In the past CCES did not have a formal Alumni Association, it was the norm that graduates from the school will eventually enroll their children to the school and thus support the school in many ways, not just through payment of tuition but donations and supporting fund raising activities. However over the years, many of the graduates have moved to different cities, and therefore not have much contact with the school anymore.
In 2011, Ms. Lucille Paredes Lee and Jocelyn So-Roman, both CCES Batch 1984 alumnae, went to visit the school and discovered that the school needed help, observing problems like physical deterioration of the school building and dwindling student population. They posted their experience in Facebook, a social networking site, and started a group to spread the word amongst its former students on what the school had become. The group’s membership grew to more than 400 alumni here and abroad.
News about the school also reached the Alumni who are decedents of the Catarman Chinese Chamber members who were the founders and benefactors of the school. They then established the CCES Foundation which became the official company that runs the school from then on.
By August 2012, a grand reunion was organized and it was the official start of the CCES Alumni Association, the goal is to help the new CCES Foundation to help uplift the school back to its former glory.
